A 12.5in Royal Doulton Art Nouveau vase of exquisite quality by one of the greatest of all Doulton designers, in excellent condition. The vase is signed by two assistants, but it is hard to see what they did, as all the detail is of the quality associated only with the master himself. The quality of the fine tubelining and the glazing without overrun, is notable.
The vase has the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark with crown and lion, and a coded date mark (e) for 1905. It is signed in monogram by Mark Marshall, Emily Partington and Ada Maycock, and has Mark Marshall’s design number 547. The vase weighs 987g.
The vase is in excellent condition, without cracks, chips, crazing or restoration. For the most fastidious, it has one light scratch about 3mm long.
