This Royal Doulton vase was made in different colours. It was designed by Francis Pope around about 1920, and the popular cloisonne decoration was used on a variety of shapes. The other frequent colour scheme was a two-tone brown.
The vase has the impressed Royal Doulton mark with crown and lion and the series number 8138. It also has the incised monogram of Bessie Newbery. The vase weighs 942g.
The vase is in excellent condition. It has had professional restoration to a very small rim chip, but that is now invisible. There are no cracks or crazing.
