This Doulton Lambeth small mint condition 8.5in (21cm) vase is an extreme rarity – a Siliconware vase by Hannah Barlow. Our research into Hannah Barlow reveals no other Siliconware vase by her. As the sgraffito work is straight into the unglazed clay, the quality is exceptional, with every scribed line clear and precise.
The vase has the impressed Doulton Lambeth Silicon stamp and the date 1882. It is signed in monogram by Hannah Barlow, with her design number 950. It has two other assistants’ impressed monograms, one of which may well be Louisa Wakely. The vase weighs 817g.
The vase is in excellent condition without cracks, chips, restoration or significant scratches.
