Frank A Butler - a Doulton Lambeth Iznik-style stoneware vase - 756
This 25cm (10in) Doulton Lambeth vase reflects the interest in Persian and Middle Eastern design that was shown by the late Victorians. The vase has a combination of a reticulated top and an Iznik pattern.
The reticulated vase has the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark, without the word ‘England’ underneath, dating the vase to pre-1892. The vase is signed in monogram by Frank Butler and has his number 756. It is also monogrammed by Annie Gentle, Marshall’s assistant. The vase weighs 1215g.
The vase is in mint condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, restoration or significant scratches.
