An important work by an important 20th century designer. It shows the progress made in design from the sgraffito animalia drawings of the Barlows to the fully coloured depictions of swallows on this vase. The sense of vitality and motion shown by the Barlows is also present in this vase.
An 11.25in (28cm) Royal Doulton vase in Art Deco style. The vase has an impressed Royal Doulton mark with lion only dating the vase to post-1923. It is signed in monogram by Harry Simeon and his assistant Maud Bowden. It is numbered 150 (or possibly 1500). The vase weighs 1302g.
The vase is in mint condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing restoration, or significant scratches.
