We do not know who was the designer of this formal baluster vase. The printed design, the colour, the formality and the shape are all unusual for a Doulton Faience vase. This suggests that it may have been an experimental vase for a type that never went into production. A true collector’s piece for a faience collector.
An 11in (27.5cm) Doulton Lambeth Faience vase. The vase has the impressed Doulton Lambeth Faience mark without the word ‘England, dating it to pre-1892. There is no artist’s mark suggesting that this was an experimental piece.
The vase is in mint condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing restoration, or significant scratches.
