A very early Doulton Lambeth 8.5in (21cm) ewer by one of the rarest of the first group of Doulton’s top class designers – Emily Edwards. Probably made in 1871/2, this is a ‘must have’ for the collector making a comprehensive collection of the whole spectrum of early Doulton design.
The ewer has the early Doulton Lambeth oval mark dating it to first years of the 1870s. It is signed in monogram by Emily Edwards and an unknown assistant. The vase weighs 665g.
The vase is in excellent condition with no defects or apparent restoration.
