A late vase by Eliza Simmance in Art Nouveau style. By the time that this vase was designed and decorated by Eliza Simmance (1910), she had been at Doultons for 37 years, but she was able to adapt to the new shapes and colours of the early 20th century as easily as her younger counterparts.
The 8.5in (21cm) Royal Doulton vase has the impressed Royal Doulton mark with crown and lion. It is signed in monogram by Eliza Simmance and her assistant, Bessie Newbery. It is code dated (k) for 1910, and numbered by Eliza Simmance 512. The vase weighs 879g.
There is no damage to the vase, with no chips, cracks and restorations.
