A matched (left and right handed) pair of Doulton Lambeth vases by Edith Lupton. This pair is unusual as, in 1887, the date of these vases, an overall green was not a commonly used colour at Doultons.
The pair of 8.25in (21cm) vases have the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark with the date of 1887. They are signed in monogram by Edith Lupton, and her assistant, Emily Viner. The vases weigh a total of 902g.
Some of the pale blue strips at the base of the vases fell off during firing and have been replaced. There is some very fine kiln grit to the glaze on reverse of one vase.
