One of a near pair of ewers, that differ only in their decoration. Normally these horses would be worth more than its fellow 'sheep' ewer, but the value of the horses reflects the fact that the ewer has had restoration - albeit to a state of perfection - and the sheep are 100% pristine.
The 11.5in (28.5cm) ewer has the Doulton Lambeth impressed mark with the date 1876. It is signed in monogram and numbered 237 by Hannah Barlow. It is also signed by Emily Stormer and Rosina Brown, Hannah Barlow’s assistants. The ewer weighs 938g.
