Two Royal Doulton Art Nouveau stoneware vases - SOLD

These two Royal Doulton vases are by Bessie Newbery and Florrie Jones. Both have the impressed Doulton Circle mark with Crown and Lion. Both are signed by the artists, and the Bessie Newbery vase has additionally the 'r' mark of Letitia Rosevear. Simple tube-lined designs such as these often date from the very early days of the 20th century - about 1905-10. The colour variations show the amount of discretion allowed to each of the artists.
Both vases are in excellent condition with no chips, crazing or restoration. The Bessie Newbery vase has a small underglaze firing crack approx 1cm long on the rim.
