A very early Art Deco shape of Royal Doulton stoneware vase with later style of decoration by Minnie Webb.

The shape of this vase was first used in about 1912, being one of Doulton's 'New Style' vases announced in that year. This one must be post-1922 as it has the Doulton Circle mark with only a Lion, that started in that year. The shape can be seen in Desmond Eyles' 'The Doulton Lambeth Wares' on pages 179 and 217. The vase has the monogram of Minnie Webb inscribed underneath. It was probably designed originally as a spill vase.

The vase is in perfect condition, with no cracks, chips, crazing or restoration.
