Royal Doulton Art Nouveau stoneware vase with tube-lined bird motifs - SOLD

This is probably one of the latest vases on offer. The dates of the 'X' series designs are known and X8912 suggests a date of post-1934. The backstamp, the Doulton Circle mark with Lion, was first used in 1922, and the vase also has the incised monogram of Lily Partington. After a lapse of about 15/20 years the use of tube-lining came back into favour in the 1930s.
The vase is in perfect condition, with no cracks, chips, crazing or restoration
