A bold Art Nouveau Royal Doulton stoneware vase from the 1930s with beadwork panels, by Georgie Smith.

This vase, like many of Clarice Cliff's designs clearly states that design must sometimes dominate function. As a vase it will take little, and ceratinly not enough, to counterbalance its weighty presence. It has the Doulton Circle mark with Lion, dating it to 'after 1922' and also the monogram of Georgie Smith. Judging by the shape, it originates from the 1930s, or possibly even later.

The vase is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration.
