Doulton Burslem Plate with marine subject

A hand-painted top quality Doulton Burslem plate with 'Spanish' ware leaf decoration to one side and an embossed area with a crab and a lobster to the other. More centrally is another crab and a fish. The plate has the Doulton Burslem mark with Crown, but without the word 'England' underneath: this indicates a production time of 1886-1891.

The plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. The edge and Spanish gilding are in excellent condition.
