Dolton Lambeth Marqueterie ware teapot - 676

Doulton Lambeth Marqueterie ware was made in very limited quantities. The teapot has the characteristic Doulton and Rix mark underneath, and it is dated 12th July 1887. For details of Marqueterie ware, see pages 172-175 of Desmond Eyles' 'Doulton Lambeth Wares'. It was only in production from about 1886 to 1900, and proved too expensive to be worth producing. Quality items are now rare.

The teapot is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. The gilding is also in excellent condition
