This elaborately decorated 9" (22.5cm) jug has the traditional Doulton colour scheme of brown, cobalt blue and grey. Every small area is finely decorated with patterns, beads and applied stylised flowers. It has the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark, the incised monograms of Elizabeth A Sayers and Annie Gentle, the date 1879 and Elizabeth Sayers' opus number '50'.
The jug is in pristine condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing or restorations.
