A rare 11" (23cm) Doulton Lambeth planter dating from the last decade of the 19th century on three loop feet.
The elaborate Douton Lambeth planter is signed by the ceramic artist Emily Partington. Made between 1892, and 1902, it has all the hallmarks of Victorian design - detailed embossed designs, swirling loops at each end and underneath, and a frilly rim. It has the Doulton impressed mark, with 'ENGLAND' dating it as above. It also has the series number 4237 and a registered design number 152995.
The planter is in excellent condition except for a small rim chip. There are no cracks, crazing, other restorations or chips, and no significant scratches.
