DESCRIPTION
The use of spiral designs started in the last years of the 19th century. Reference to pages 198 and 199 of Desmond Eyles' 'The Doulton Lambeth Wares' shows both the use of spiral designs and also, the use of a similar marine blue glaze. Both vases have the impressed Royal Doulton mark with crown and lion and the series number 6230. One vase has the incised monogram of Lily Partington, and the other has an unrecognised monogram.
CONDITION Both vases are in mint condition. They have no chips, cracks, crazing, restoration or even significant scratches.
