DESCRIPTION
This is an exceptional pair of vases, in terms of size, condition, beauty of design and provenance. The vases date from the period 1891-1902, from 1891 when 'England' was added to the impressed Doulton mark, and 1902 when Doulton became 'Royal' Doulton. They both have the monogram of Eliza Simmance and her assistant Jane Hurst, and the reference number 34R. The design is split into three panels around the vases.
CONDITION
The vases are in mint condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing restoration or significant scratches. One vase has a blob of brown glaze on it that dates from pre-firing.
