A superb 8.5" (22cm) Art Nouveau Royal Doulton vase by one of the top quality ceramic artists of the early 20th Century - Florrie Jones.
This lovely vase is a great rarity, an Art Deco Doulton vase that relies solely on geometric patterns. The vase has the impressed Royal Doulton mark with Lion and the series number 2408. It is signed in monogram by Florrie Jones. Whether or not Florrie Jones produced the vase to the design of another designer, or to her own design is debatable. The vase dates from the 1930's, and is illustrated on p220 of the 'bible' on Doulton Lambeth, 'The Doulton Lambeth Wares' by Desmond Eyles and Louise Irvine. Both the green and the white on this vase are speckled glazes, but the white is high gloss and the green is matt.
Quite simply 'mint'. The vase has no chips cracks, scratches, crazing or restoration.
