A truly magnificent pair of Royal Doulton Art Deco 16.5in (42cm) vases by one of Doulton's greatest designers, Eliza Simmance, mounted on brass bases. The dominant colours of pale grey/green and pink are charateristic of the Art Deco movement of the period.

This magnificent pair of Royal Doulton Art Nouveau 16.5in (40.5cm) vases each have the incised monogram of Eliza Simmance, and her assistant, one of the finest, Jane Hurst. They also have the Royal Doulton impressed mark with crown and lion, and the coded date stamp 'C' for 1902. The vases weigh about 2.5kg each with their brass bases.

The vases are in mint condition, without chips, cracks, crazing or significant scratches. One vase has 3 small blemsihes on the top flange caused by the removal of kiln grit. These are samll enough that they do not detract from the overall appearance of the vases.
