John Broad was one of the cornerstones of Doulton’s decorative products arm. Starting in 1873, he worked at the Lambeth works for 46 years till 1919, specialising in large monumental works. Vases, figurines, statuary, portrait medallions and large monuments, Broad turned his hand to all of them, with enormous success in both terracotta and stoneware.
